I always felt like being into bdsm was a completely normal thing and that most people weren't really against it. It came up in conversation with my best friend recently though, and all said was, "That's disgusting." Is it normal to like bdsm?
It's normal to me. However, you have to realise that there are many people in society who are vanilla. While the emersion of BDSM in the media seems to be growing and has brought a wider audience to the lifestyle, there are still many straight laced and religious folks out there. Don't forget that religions like Christianity usual forbid this kind of lifestyle.
It's probably not the thing most folks are into, but for consenting adults, it's fine.
Many religious orders have shielded those who enjoy it, for centuries, even incorporating it into their dogma.
