I absolutely can’t stand the feeling of velvet, peaches, and paper towels

It feels like fingernails on a chalkboard when I feel or hear the sound of velvet, peaches, paper towels, and sometimes suede. I squirm and feel dizzy.
I did find haptodysphoria, so I guess it’s not just me?

Noun. haptodysphoria (uncountable) An odd, disagreeable sensation felt by certain people when handling peaches, velvet or other fuzzy surfaces.

I don't really like it, but I can stand it. I also love peaches so I have to deal with it. Velvet isn't so bad for me though

What about those velvet paintings of sad clowns and tigers?

  • The sound of someone scratching a holographic sticker make my teeth hurt, even just the thought of it...ugh my teeth hurt now

  • I don’t feel the same as you. But I feel physical pain when a person’s yawn, so an uncommon paranoia of texture isn’t weird to me.
