  • You need some kind of purpose. Like a big long term goal that requires lots of short term goals to accomplish. Each time you complete a step is very satisfying and that sense of moving forward does wonders for your psyche. Because now you're not just telling yourself or hearing that "you can do this", but you're making it a reality. You can't achieve happiness without work. It requires sustained comscious physical effort!
