I have begun talking to someone who is separated and not with there spouse, but don’t know where they stand. I am scared to start developing feelings and then being shot down because they get back together. What do you do? Hang out?? Chance where it goes?? Or just go in it as FWB?
I wouldn't involve myself. Hell no.
Tell him to finish his divorce and that you're not gonna involve yourself with someone who's married.

RUN. . . not walk away, unless you want to experience heart-ache on an epic level. If you were meant to be together, it can wait until after he is legally unattached, and has had emotional distance from the trauma of the breakup.
We rarely make good decisions when we're in a state of vulnerability, loss, depression. And we often DON'T have control over our emotions once they are awakened. Please take the advise of others who have had affairs, been in relationships that were not out in the open... and believe me, if you have sex, your feelings will cave into him. If you must have sex, find someone who is not legally married.
Me personally id just use them for sex and see where it goes but never go to the persons house for sex. Thats a good way to get shot.
