I'd tell them I'm not sure and then ask them their point of view on certain topics. There's this nice Jehovah's Witness couple that give me this magazine whenever they see me. They really do believe they're helping, walking around for hours trying to give people hope and perspective. They've never patronized my beliefs nor I theirs.
That's not to say I haven't run into pushy ones, but I give them a chance to be heard, too. Everyone just wants someone to hear them.
I have seen Jehovah's witnesses put down on this sight, but I had one stop by this week and give me an announcement for an upcoming Easter meeting. He was very nice and did not try to question me or push his beliefs.
How would you feel if a stranger asked you what your religion was?
