For a trial period of a week, be a complete bitch to him. Treat him like you own him, stop him from seeing his friends, scream at him for no reason, etc.
If he still wants to be in a relationship with you after that, he will be easily domesticated.
If he does has a backbone however, you might be able to have a healthy, equal relationship where you both contribute to the cooking and cleaning.
