How to deal with a friend that hates black and white people?

Why are you friends with someone who's so stupid?

I'm doubtful if someone else can change a racist. Looking down on other groups is usually a fundamental part of their world-view and how they see their value and status in the world. Something might happen to your friend someday that makes him reconsider his opinions, but he will have to go through that often painful process of reassessment for himself.

Most racists these days have learned to moderate their language to be more socially acceptable, but they're still going to be thinking racist thoughts.

This is why I never believe people who apologise profusely and say they aren't _really_ racist after they've said something incredibly racist "accidentally", in the heat of anger, or when intoxicated. The outburst just gives others a peek at what's going on under their civilised veneer.

Of course, as I'm sure you appreciate, your friend's racism is really quite ironic, because there's no shortage of white and black people who believe deep down that Puerto Rican people are all scum, and reports of Puerto Rican people doing bad things help feed their confirmation bias just as other reports feed his.

Your friend is an idiot, he's probably not much different from the ignorant redneck racist types.

You could probably explain to him that Hispanic is not a race, but an ethnicity and that Hispanic people can be Black, white, Native American, Asian or any mix thereof. Puerto Rican people are actually very racially mixed so although he's Puerto Rican he is probably a mix of White, Black and Native American.

It probably won't do any good to explain the truth to him though. I suspect that he's quite ethnocentric.

Why not talk about the white on white crime rate which is way higher then the black on black crime rate. In America at least you have a higher chance of being attacked by someone in the same racial group. I understand that poverty is a factor for crime but again there are more poor who're people then poor black people because whites are the majority.

I'm half black and Hispanic and I will say that both sides of my family has racist fucks. Ironically they don't seem to see that both races(blacks and Hispanics) have just as many dumbasses same thing with whites or any other group.

I don't(as most people I know) commit any crimes so I guess I'm abnormal then. Why is that number 13% always brought up when there are just as many whites who commit violent acts yet that's not held over whites like its a cloud. Seriously I want to know why do you think blacks are natural violent when not all black gangbangers or criminals?
