So because you haven't experienced it it's impossible? I find that argument incredibly ignorant. Also, schizophrenia has nothing to do with depression they're two different things.
I agree that getting help is usually a good thing but to say it's impossible to help yourself is not true. I got over depression without ever really talking to someone about it so I know it's possible.
No one said that because I haven't personally experienced it, it's impossible. What I said is I haven't heard of any documented successes.
Every success usually had SOME type of help along the way (books, people around them, something). I know depression is a completely draining disease so it's pretty hard for me to imagine someone suffering from it combating it alone.
I guess your definition of help is broader than what I was thinking. That makes more sense when you include books and whatnot so I s'pose I'd agree with you. I thought you meant more like professional help and talking to someone in person.
And yea depression is a bitch, completely alone without internet or anything would be pretty tough.
How so one combats depression without anyone knowing it?

Whatever. I haven't heard of anyone who has defeated this illness without SOME type of help. Even a support group and friends is help. But ALONE? No.
That's like saying someone can "overcome" schizophrenia alone.
