This is very bad advice. Go to your local university library and find the section for peer-reviewed medical journals, and look into how much scientific research goes into psychiatry and the efficacy of properly prescribed medication for things like ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc. Then, try to find any scientific evidence at all that shows alternative medicine is any more effective than a placebo for helping people, and compare the statistics for positive life outcomes from people with severe ADHD who take prescribed medication with people with ADHD who use herbs or other alternative medicine. It is definitive.
For example, 40% of all male long-term prison inmates have ADHD, and nearly all of those with ADHD were never diagnosed as children and were never treated.
That is what i'm afraid of. I took a colonapin to help me cope last time and it seemed to help a great deal, but everyone i know that takes pills for anxiety just seems like there is something missing from their brain. But then i wonder, how would they act without them? And it makes me feel like i'm being too judgmental.
You're not being judgmental. I say this because there are "hidden" and sometimes very dangerous side-effects to medications. If go on http://www.askapatient.com/ they'll tell you the truth on these medications. The last few times I was on them, they messed with things. They didn't help my overall mental/physical health at all and made things allot worse. A few of my friends have been on medication and they become different people when taking it. It's terrible. The best route would be to go natural and alternative. Things like Herbal treatment and acupuncture, etc. Good Luck!
how should i deal with anxiety?

It's not bad advice. My advice was based on my experiences, as well as the terrible side-effects these creations cause.
