How serious do you take this site?

I tend to take it probably more serious than others but I do have a silly side and it often comes out. I am more serious if it is a serious topic and will give good advice. However, badmouth my race or talk like a moron and I will slam you full of insults.

So, how is everyone elses opinion here and how serious do you take this stuff? Also, is it normal to take this site seriously?

if the post seems fake, i just read the comments they are so funny

if the post seems real but I dont have enough expirience with the topic I will just read the comments to learn more about it,
and if I do have expirience I will even comment about it.

I will rarely leave a pointless message like "lol" or "get a life"

I'm with you Poison. I tend to be more serious on this website. I try to ignore the ridiculous fake posts by bored 10-year-olds.

I mostly get really irritated by people's horrible grammar or WEN DEY TYPE LIK DIS NOE WUT I MEAN. Ugh....

    • The hell you are. I think you lost the point of this site as much as I have. It is rather sad as you took such time to write good comments and now you can't even think for yourself but tend to agree with a group.

Heaven forbid the day you have an idea or a comment that conflicts with the very people you are trying so desperate to befriend.

Yes, this comment was rather harsh but you used to be a passionate person who took a lot of time in what you wrote. Now, you gave that up to jump into the schoolyard and join the "cool" kids, it is rather disappointing. You used to be better and now you settled for being the same. If that is normal, count me out.

I take most posts on this site pretty seriously. Of course I've never been very good at spotting trolls, but surprisingly I haven't seen very many on this site. Maybe I've just been clicking on the wrong posts. But most of the ones I've seen seemed worth taking seriously, and I leave a genuine comment if I've got something to say.

I think it is based on the question I tend to be more serious when people actually have a serious or heartfelt question where they are looking for guidance and using the site for what it for. On the other hand some people post stupid post that are immature and pointless questions I usually don't comment so hopefully they stop posting

  • For those who are new, please read and use this to guide your decisions.

AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT HURTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS, YOU ARE FINE. IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOUR MOM AND SHE IS OKAY WITH THAT, THAT IS OKAY, NOT TO ME BUT BETWEEN THE BOTH OF YOU. IF YOU CAN'T DECIDE ON THIS OR THAT, ODDS ARE YOU KNOW THE CORRECT OPTION ALREADY AND ARE TRYING TO ACCEPT YOUR DECISION.

YOU DON'T NEED US TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU ARE BETTER AT ANYWAYS, DECIDING AT WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU. BUT BACK TO WHAT I SAID BEFORE

AS LONG AS YOU AREN'T HURTING YOURSELF OR OTHERS, IT IS PERFECTLY FINE. If you like dressing up as Pikachu and go to anime conventions, thats fine although I wouldn't date you. If you like working extra hard on something and don't really care if you get paid for the extra work, thats great.

(Yes, I learned this next one so for those who badmouth what I write, shut up.)

If you write horribly and would rather write s1 instead of 'someone' or have tattoos all over your face, thats fine and it took me a while to realise this.

However, if you do things outside of the 'norm, it may be harder to find a job. (Like the tattooed face guy may never work in a professional office.) But if it brings joy to your day, enjoy it as that is the best part of life. Just also respect those who disagree with your decisions at the end.

For instance, I disliked a race or a type of people, that is PERFECTLY fine but I better learn how to work with these people. However, if a fuckhole thinks he needs to party until 4am on a Wednesday, that doesn't mean I have to accept his behavior and not call the police at an earlier hour.

    • Urg, I need to clarify this one before the band of hateful emails start up.

      BEING COMPLETELY HONEST
I do not hate or even dislike mexicans. I hate their culture and a lot of ideas but not based just because of what they are. If a hard working mexican is working hard and has good ethics, I would value working with him.

IN THE PAST, I did badmouth this culture as those are who I know. It is like an Iraqi being pissed at a United States citizen living in France over his house being bombed and that idea is rather wrong.

HOWEVER, if you are an ignorant fuckhead who is lazy or doesn't try to do better at work or lives to drain resources from others for personal gains, I will dislike you if you are White, Brown, Purple, or Green skinned.

This is MY OPINION though and I am entitled to how I think. It wouldn't be okay if I started shooting these people but behind closed doors, it is perfectly fine for me to dislike these people and badmouth them. I'm not hurting anyone else from that idea.

    • Yeah, I had to bookmark my profile page and work from there. When the page when down, I used a bookmark on a page that I commented on and work from there. This way it is just easier.

  • I used to take it VERY seriously. At one time, it was my major social function, being shut in as I was, and still am, much of the time.

Things happened tho, and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't be here as much. (In comparison to the rest of the real world, I am not sure if my Wanting to be here so much was a good thing or a bad thing)

Now I am back, frequently infrequent (broken knees again, long story) but here nonetheless. I expect I will be here much more again now that I am out of hospital for a time. :)

    • I didn't reply to you but please read my last post before this one. I wrote here so you would get an email and I would like to say

I understand and you beat me. I won't last here as I stopped caring. I do understand why you left and I don't blame you and are currently thinking on joining you.

    • Urg, we are not going to debate problems but I am annoyed that half my face works right while the other half is somewhat paralized. I guess you could use the numbness as broken bones hurt a great deal.

I take this site somewhat serious. I have been here a month and I grown to like a few posters a lot more than others, posters like Jen118584 or yourself. It really helps to come here and read other problems to help me enjoy my life more.

Unfortuantely though, I have used it as an excuse not to study and I am hurting quite a bit there in that field. I enjoy coming here, even if it is to trash morons who hate cops or "America" and I find that it makes me feel good to help the odd few that need help.

I take it pretty seriously, to be honest :) And I feel like people are my friends on here. I also try to help people as best as I can. I like to feel like I can make a difference in someone's life. So yeah I take this site seriously.

  • There's junk here and a lot of people who don't know how to listen. But a lot of posts are about serious issues: bad relationships, abuse, mental health. sexuality that deserve to be respected & supported.

It is the internet, however, and people with any issues should really seek more appropriate help/information from counsellors, Drs, teachers, faith leaders etc.

    • Thank you, same here. I agree. I hate it when people talk like morons or break down simple words to characters like "g8t" or "l8r". Like I am supposed to speak moron to understand them. It gets me the most annoyed though as we do have a common written language that supports writing and sharing of ideas - THE ENGLISH WRITTEN LANGUAGE. Why are we going out of our way to become more stupid?

    • I'm the author. After second though, I take it all with a grain of salt. I write seriously when it need a serious answer and bash others who act like asses.

I enjoy the site as mostly I could just be me and also I enjoy helping others.

Not too sure what you're asking here. I just take it like anything else on the internet. I try to give advice sometimes, but I don't know how good it is.

Also, my humour often leaves everyone else shifting in their seat or completely indifferent. In other words, I don't have a silly side, I just have an idiotic side.

Sometimes I get quite pissed off at what people write on here and on other sites and will try to put them right. Don't know why I bother though, since I don't know the person who wrote it and for all I know, they don't even exist.
