I must have been like 6. My parents, for reasons I don't understand, decided to pour my sister and I a shot glass of scotch. She sipped it for a long time. Meanwhile, I drank it all at once. I felt like my mouth was being blowtorched for about a half hour. Now, you might think six year old me would get drunk and the pain would subside. You would be wrong. I remember the whole bloody experience. Ever since I avoided alcohol like the plague, up to and including when my religion requires it.
