the other day in conversation with some female friends, I responded to their question about whether or not I thought it was necessary to call my significant other daily by saying that instead of a lady making me have to check in daily; i'd love for her to let me want to call her daily. Now, I am a guy, and even to me, 5 days seems excessive in modern times with the availability of technology that simplifies the process.
I think instead of ending the relationship with him, this might be something you want to discuss with him to let him know how it affects you and where you hope things could possibly change with time.
