How often do you paint the interior of your house?

I wonder because my grandmother just purchased a house, whose owner I know, and they haven’t painted inside the house since 2002. It’s out-of-date, but I think it looks cool and kind of don’t want her to change the inside, ignorance no the chipping paint.

my wife went bat shit crazy and i can no longer see any floor in my house . this means i can't paint my walls because i cant get to them. if she dies before i do it will be months of burning out back before the house is cleared and i can paint. i will not remarry.

Depends on your taste and ambition. I haven't painted my kitchen or living room in several years (have touched-up here and there, though), as am happy with it, but, my home office is in dire need. Only room in the house I haven't re-painted, and it shows. Most other rooms have been done in the past 8-10 years, maybe less.

  • If it’s a good paint job (proper wall prep, primer, then finish paint) with good quality paint, it should last 20 years or more. Color and changing tastes aside.
If is poor prep and cheap paint, about 2-3 years.
