How often do you honk the horn when you drive?

Are you a very tolerant driver that doesn't get annoyed when other drivers make mistakes and you wait and wait, even if the car in front of you is ignoring the green light and is not moving?
Or do you lay on the horn every time someone makes something stupid, or doesn't go within 4 seconds after the lights turn green...

I think you can guess what's my choice... XD
I like to combine horn and high beams. High beams for minor annoyances and horn for bigger annoyances.

People here, in Dover, seem to honk their horns a lot.

Way more tolerant than me... In Germany lots of people are on their phones, missing when the lights turn green, drifting into other lanes and generally doing lots of stupid stuff.

I use the horn in Germany mostly defensively. But in Bulgaria, where there are no fines for improper horn use, I often use the horn to make road hogs move and make slow drivers get out of the way, or speed up.

I like a few of their songs, but I'm more of a fan of good 'ol fashioned American metal.

Speaking of music, I'm actually gonna make a music post in a bit, cause I got curious XD

  • I was late to catch a meeting one evening in Moscow, bad temper situation.
A van took an extra couple seconds to hit their gas and I punched my horn a couple times.
4 men immediately exited the van to approach my car.
I do not honk my horn in Moscow anymore.

      • Gut punch per horn honk.
But my meeting was delayed, I kept the vomit off my shirt, and my ass was left untouched, so I consider that a success!

Totally depends on my mood. I can be pretty damn tolerant and wait a few seconds then maybe do a friendly toot toot, or I can just rage out and yell and curse and give the ol' birdy whilst I slam on the honker

I'll honk, but not too often. They have to do something really asinine or something dangerous. I got used to driving without a horn for such a long time that I mostly just dodge and keep going now days. I rage a lot though, lol.

I use the horn for it's proper purpose - alerting others of potential danger. Or also if they are causing an obstruction (eg someone not noticing a green light because they are texting or something equally stupid). There's no point in honking at someone just because you're angry. It achieves nothing.

I do get impatient with other drivers sometimes, but my dog is almost always in the car with me and goes beserk at any horn going off, so I've got out of the habit.

  • Ha, just an hour ago I was behind someone at a red light. They weren't paying attention and didn't see it turn green for about 10 seconds. I just sat there. I have no idea why. I wasn't even irritated. Maybe because it's such a nice evening.
