I think it really matters how important sex is to the individuals involved. I know guys that are satisfied with sex a few times a month and others who want it 20 times a week.
If you are having problems in the bedroom, you two need to talk openly about it and see if there isn't a way to improve things. That is, if you wish to salvage the relationship, a big question, for sure.
For many (most?) sex becomes pretty routine in a good, loving relationship after a time, unless the two of you communicate, experiment and work hard to keep that part alive and well.
