How many hours of sleep per night, should a person get?

  • It depends on your age. Many studies have shown that an adult needs 7-8 hours of sleep for peak mental performance. Many of us (myself included) do not get this but should.

    If I remember right teens perform better with 9-10 hours of sleep and senior citizens need less than 8.

    • This year I've only been able to get six hours sleep. I try to get more sleep, but once I'm up, I can't get back to sleep. Perhaps this is why I haven't been performing well this year as I did last year on my college course.

      Perhaps I should get some medication to sleep better.
