How many headphones/sets have you broken?

I break them all the time, I generally buy 2-3 sets so I have a back up and don't get pissed off at myself when I have to go buy a new set without any music to listen to.

I only buy cheap sets, cos I know I'll break them eventually, despite best intentions.

My grandmother keeps asking if I want a fancy set (bizarre as she doesn't like or approve of spending money) and I say no, cos I'd only break them. She says well maybe the more expensive ones wouldn't break so easily.

Maybe, but I'm too cheap to fork out the extra dollars to find out :)

A lot. Most of the time I either loose them or ruin them in the snow. So I bought bright blue and orange water proof ear buds. Ha take that mother nature!! Trying to steal my head phones....

But keep in mind you're talking about over 20 years of owning headphones.

Now I have one set of AWESOME headphones that have a detachable cord. So when the cord breaks I just replace the cord.

And I have a set that I wear for casual stuff, for when the "big cans" are too annoying. for those I bought them with a warranty plan so when they break (or if the dog chews them) i'll just get them replaced. (yeah my warranty covers personal damage)

My apple earphones usually break after 4-6 month -.-

I've broken at least five within this year alone.

Just a couple, I jealously guard mine and am super-careful with them. I'm going to need a new pair soon, by current earphones are broken in the left ear =(

I buy a $15 dollar pair that stop working in 6 months. I love the sound from them though.

Why does this keep on happening?!
A friend of mine told me that he had broken 5 headphones over the past 2 years, I don't personally know the guy we just skype (He lives in Norway and I in Sweden)

So yes, I guess it's normal but I've only broken 1 pair and that was 4 years ago

This question is funny, because if it were possible to ask in the 80's, even 90's....imagine the responses....those headphones were SHIT and try getting a new pair, it wasn't so simple or cheap!!

bah i destroyed alot of them. so i stoped buying the really nice ones :S

Yeah, I keep mine very nicely guarded aswell. It's true though a lot of the time one ear breaks and I have to have them replaced :/
