How long do you realistically see yourself being an active member on is it normal in the future?

I haven't got a clue. It could be tomorrow or in 5 years. I'm not sure when I'll leave for good. Probably when I feel like everyone has left. I know new people become a part of IIN and it's a gradual thing, but if everyone who is here now has moved on, then I'll probably feel alone and wonder why I haven't moved on too.
I can't predict this sort of thing. It has eveything to do with how I feel, and I never know which way my mood will go. Usually when I feel bad about myself in real life, I am much more likely to leave. When I'm happy in real life, then I usually feel happy being here. If I feel bad about myself (nothing to do with anyone else, both in real life and on here), it probably comes across a bit and I feel like I'm only adding to the negative side of IIN. I'd hate to make anyone else feel bad just because I feel bad, I'd rather just remove myself from the situation and then deal with it, and then come back when I want to.
That makes a lot of sense, about how you feel in real life coming across on IIN. Not that it's ever been noticeable though, I think you always come across as optimistic and cheerful. It could be that your 'negative side' on IIN is only visible to you.

Hehe, optimistic and cheerful? Yay:D! I'm not even sure what I am. Some people seem to think I'm very happy and optimistic, whereas others seem to think I'm very pessimistic and sardonic, if that's a decent way of putting it.:S Maybe I'm just a mix:P. I am really happy at the moment, though, which is why I probably seem very cheerful right now. When I'm a bad mood I'm not like that.

Seriously though.
I've never really, seriously considered leaving and never coming back. I've considered taking breaks, but I've never really done that either unless I've been without internet. I'll leave when I'm happy that I don't need IIN anymore, but that time isn't now and the time won't be for a long while yet. Maybe that will be in a year's time, when I'm in university. Maybe that will be in 4 years time, when I'm out of university. Maybe that will be never.
Even then, I would wonder about what all the people here are doing. I'd always drop in and out. I'd still be sad if IIN shutdown for good.
I'm thinking of teaching, but I'm far from settled on that at the moment. Practicing psychology is one option; my uncle's a therapist and he finds his job very interesting, but I'm not sure if I think it would be a good idea because it sounds like such an excessively stressful job, even more so than teaching would be :P I'm keeping my doors open, of course, my mind could easily change when I've had a bit more experience :)
I don't know. I usually let pressures build up and then when I've finally had enough, I walk away quickly and without looking back. Because of that, I honestly can't make any prediction.
As for the other questions:
- I don't feel very positive about my future on IIN.
- Little difference from now.
- If people were open and clear about me not being welcome, I'd leave. But they have to do it with their own accounts rather than weasel around.

As for the users who don't feel this way and try to bring him down, it can only be a reflection of their own misery. May they go find a hole to rot in somewhere else.
That's very sweet of you. I may have been more negative than I intended when I first replied. Things have been getting on top of me out in real-life and, no matter what has been going on, I've tried never to let it make me be negative here. Recently I've been doing that and being negative.
However, I have a plan. You may see me disappear for a little bit soon but it's temporary. And I'm going to come back good as new and then haunt you all forever. :)
I am coming up on my two year anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Although I did take a several month break. If I do that again, I promise I wont deactivate my account.
I don't know how long I will be here. As long as I feel I am valued in some way, and not too disheartened by the words of others.
Come March, I will be taking a leave of absence and I don't know how long I will be gone. It depends on what happens when and if I decide to return. But I like it here so I will probably poke my head in just to say hello.

bonus question 1 - I feel great about the time ahead. It will be exciting and life changing. Some of you know what I'm talking about, but I honestly don't think most of you care.
Bonus 2 - I never know where I'm going to be in life. If an opportunity presents itself, I weigh the options and ride the wind wherever it takes me. So far it has yet to fail me. My future has a lot of potential. It may look conventional on the outside, but appearances can be deceiving.
Bonus 3 - My computer crashed a while ago and that didn't stop me. When I left the first time I was a bit depressed and fell ill. I'd rather not experience that again. I guess I would have to naturally outgrow the place, whatever that means.
It took me a while to settle in here I think. I was mistakenly treating it like some sort of exclusive club I was trying to break into and puff my chest out a bit I think. Past few weeks IRL have been pretty bad for me but here it not bad.
I'm starting to like it and there are some nice people on here. I'll be around for a while, and I think I'll keep gold too.... There's a whole other world out there of shit that gets moderated out, some of it is funny and a lot of it quite sick.... And then there's Leonard. I wish he'd go back to his temple.
Maybe a little less than a year. I'm moving in around 8 months or so and will not be having internet, phone or commercial electricity-ever again-. That'll be one major contributor as to why I won't be around! (no, I'm not turning Amish!)
I just spent some time away from IIN and since I came back it seems a little off so I'm a bit worried right now but I'm pretty confident things will get better soon.
Could you elaborate on why you feel confident things will get better soon?

Your intelligent and no-nonsense style of commenting brings some balance to the gushier types, like myself. I enjoy reading your wisdom and was disappointed to see you gone for the while that happened recently. Eight months and you'll disappear - that will be a sad day.
At first I'm going to just use a generator from time to time, I'm not sure exactly what my needs or wants will be and what's most practical until I live there a while. I'll have a propane refrigerator (sounds weird, but it's a real thing) and a coal/wood boiler system for heat and hot water and a wood burning cooking stove.
#1 is this a farm, are you working the and living off the land, and where is this, regionally, Northeast?

I'm moving to the South. I wish I could stay where I am but it's not practical, my taxes are too high and I ran into a roadblock with some of the changes I wanted to make with my property so unfortunately I gotta go! Yes, it'll be a farm with a little bit of everything!

I've made it 1 year and 6 months so far, what's another 9 and a half years (lol) gonna hurt? To be honest though, I really haven't fully considered it like that. I just take the days as they come and appreciate it for what it is, you know? It's possible that circumstances might not allow me to be an active regular from time to time, but I'll still be here though.
I feel okay about the time ahead of me. Not extremely optimistic, but not cynical either. I know times will be tough. There will also be good times as well as the bad.
Hopefully, by that time in my life (whenever that is...) I will be living good. Financial stability and debt free. New car. Land and a house maybe. Investments. Etc.
I suppose a very special young lady friend would be something that could pull me away from this site. She'd have to be pretty special though :P
I come by every day or two when I'm being 'active', then I forget about it for a month or two. I think these cycles will definitely continue through college, but in ten years I'll hopefully have better things to worry about/entertain myself with than the normalcy of myself and other people : P
BQ 1: Excited. Hopefully I'll move out. Bad things will happen, but I'll try to take them in stride.
BQ 2: Doing something related to medicine or art. Probably still confused about my life, but hopefully I'll have made a few friends to talk to about anything.
BQ 3: I'd have to have mastered the art of keeping my priorities in check.
Probably a few months. I'm already not posting as much as I usually do. I'm going on vacation the whole of December then off to school in January. I think I'll pop in, read the stories, message people I''m friendly with and reply to people's comments but I won't be a regular. I can already feel myself slipping away from IIN, but I do love this place (it has done a lot for me) and will most likely come back full blast in the future.
Well, we'll have to look forward to full-blast Capy then.

Probably for the next 3 days as I'm going to Florida for Thanksgiving; and then from there I don't know. Life is at a standstill for me and this site has been nothing but a 2 year vacation from my problems.
I've laughed until I've cried and cried until I've laughed at some of the shenanigans I've authored and others I've seen but life isn't about feeling good; to achieve anything you must undergo duress, hardship, and pain. To get much, you have to give much.
Hopefully if you see me in the next 6 years, I'll be in a military uniform working somewhere in the intelligence field.
To have a house near the hills, a family, and a job working to further the glory of my nation is the totality of my dreams.

Until I start taking classes that I am so genuinely interested in that I don't feel the need to come on here to distract me from my homework until I feel guilty enough to start doing it again. Currently, I am distracting myself from an essay.
~ How do you feel about that time ahead of you?
A little discouraged. I am starting to feel more and more the need to rage "SEARCH BAR!" at everyone posting the same story for the 9000th time and my patience with the "Is it normal my boyfriend say he luvs me but he also act lik he dnt sometim and im scard" is growing thin. We need some more users to post better stories.

At the point at which I am finally taking engaging classes? Probably when I am going to University.

My school schedule and I guess having kids would do it for me too.
I tried to keep away before, but that only lasted for a few months. I'm a less active poster now than I used to be, but I still visit IIN everyday just to read the stories and comments- coming here is like a part of my daily routine, and for me, routines are hard to break.
I can't say that I'll be here until I die, but I'll continue coming here regularly for at least the next couple of years while I'm still studying. I don't know what's going to happen after I graduate, but I'll either have a lot less free time to spend here, or a lot more, depending on whether or not I can actually find a job.
I really don't know how much time I'll be here. I'll take up my studies next year beginning in February 2013. In 2015 my boyfriend and I will try to build a family (yes yes a baby!!!!). I don't know if in the year to come I'll have so much free time as now. I won't be a regular that's for sure.
