    Longer the better. keep finding ways to try to bring it back if you can, even when it fades because it will.

    It should never fade. If you're truly in love, it won't. Been married for ten years, and it feels the same as it did when we started.

      That's not the case for most people unfortunately. Love can last but that butterfly honeymoon feeling definitely fades after a year or if you're lucky two. Its like a biological phenomenon. It's replaced by your partner becoming more like family or like a part of you which is stronger than butterflies and more real but certainly not as fun. It's not bad though.
