I'd agree with you on this one. I'd define long-term as 2.5 years and over (or shorter if you've made a commitment to stay together, such as getting engaged).
It's all personal, though. I've got a friend who thinks two weeks is long-term.

Heh! My friend isn't a teenager. He just has an aversion to sleeping with the same person more than once.
