The trick to getting away with grounding is to make your parents want you as far away from them (and the house) as possible. Grounding me was a punishment not for me, but for my parents, who knew my little boy mind was dialled all the way up to eleven even when I was behaving myself.
I don't think it would have ever crossed their mind to ground me and I don't remember ever being grounded. I do remember a lot of wandering around on my own, though.
I was the same and that still did not stop mine. I was always grounded and it usually ended up on the weekend. No matter what I did. Which sucked when I planned something. I did get out of grounding once but it was because doing so would mean that my parents lost money. So they said never mind.
I know I wish my parents had wanted me more, and I never minded being indoors but I'd hate having my plans disrupted and to lose a whole weekend? Ack! All my life I've lived for the weekend (it's 8pm on Friday night here and this as happy as I get all week). I'm sorry you lost some of yours. :/
How long have you ever been grounded?
