About 6-10 steps is all thanks to emphysema: smokers, be warned!

I hate to say it, but I'm a terrible runner. I'm not even out of shape, I just truly do not enjoy running.

3km was the most I've ever run.

My cardio is absolutely atrocious. I'm trying to train to be better but my lungs just can't keep up and I end up recovering from a 5 minute sprint for 15-20 minutes.

By run do you mean constantly? I'm an interval runner. I could bump up to the 5-9km range.
God almighty I hate straight up running though. I'm in the military so I'm at least capable of above average running but that doesnt mean I enjoy any of it.

Well I have done 5 miles and it was pretty easy.

Last I checked, it was 3km. After that, I need to walk a bit before I get started again. If I have no water or snacks along the way, it's even less. XD

There are literally only 2 reasons to run: someone you care about needs help, some ugly monster is chasing you.

I'm not really a runner, if I started running I could probably run more. I probably should try to start running again.

How do you not run, yet you could run 5 miles? At your age that means you must be very lean and have great genetics.

Just stretch beforehand, set yourself a good, and breath.

My goal would be to not die. That seriosly sounds like torcher to me. I like short bouts of effort.

Do you or did you ever do running events? Like 5k, 10k, etc?

5k is about 3.5 miles. I've done one, and like Rose said: if you stretch (especially after), set a good pace with some music, you'll get there before you know it.

Not really, there was a race that I ran a couple of times when I was a teenager, but it was only two miles, and I didn't run very fast do I lost interest.

Not far at all. 2 km if I'm lucky. I've got lots of muscle mass to carry and haven't done a lick of cardio in years. Say i'm out of shape if you want, by I think I look pretty good naked and am decent at powerlifting.
