Hehe, sure. If you're in the middle of a paragraph, Ctrl+Shift+Up selects everything from the cursor to the start of the paragraph, and Ctrl+Shift+Down everything to the end. However, Ctrl+Up moves to the start of the paragraph so if you type:
Ctrl+Up then Ctrl+Shift+Down, you get the whole paragraph. Or Ctrl+Down then Ctrl+Shift+Up also works, of course. I do it so quickly it looks like one keystroke (it's pretty easy, to be honest. After the first keypress all you do is also press Shift as well and swap the cursor).
How efficient of a typer are you?

You sound much more advanced with your keyboard skills than I am with mine. How do you do the paragraph thing, if you don't mind me asking that is? :P
