In my profession, when things get stressful, people can start dying. It is very important to asses the situation calmly and make decisions based on information, experience and resources, not emotions and panic. It might actually be necessary to send someone into a situation where they might not survive, so that the rest of us can, a difficult but necessary choice.

Striking out at others, either physically or verbally, does absolutely nothing to improve the situation.
