Maybe the reason it's not working out for you is that you keep chasing that hormonal high of being in love. True love is way deeper than that.
See, When you find someone physically attractive your caveman brain kicks in, rewarding you with happy chemicals that make you want to be close to that person and make some babies. That's all good and well for the survival of the species and all but if you want a lasting relationship it has to be more than "feelings".
I'm certainly no expert, but I have been in a relationship for almost two years now (I know, that's like almost nothing, but still). To be honest with this girl it wasn't lightning or love at first sight. She was a friend first and a really good one. But overtime we grew closer, we had the same humor a lot of similar interests and desires in life. I fell in love with her the more I got to know her.
And here's something that's gonna sound real unromantic, but I'll tell you anyway:
I made a list of the pros and cons of getting into a relationship with her. I know ... that doesen't fit into a disney movie. But if you want to be sure you HAVE to take a step back and look at things without all the hormones. What will your daily routine look like, what will you guys be able to do with each other, what do you both want in life?
If those things don't add up one of you would have to change. And change is really really hard.
How do you know if its true love ?
