Technically, when you look at a US map with the different "regions" colored in, KY is the northern-most of the southern states. We were the crossing between the North and the South during the Civil War.
So the majority of us may not be "old-school" country, but we still hold true to parts of the lifestyle. I'm actually helping a friend of mine get an alternative agriculture farm started right now. ^_^ We have pygmy cattle, goats, regular chickens, meat bunnies, and now "sea brights". You ever seen a sebright? THEY SO PUUUUURRRRTYYY!!! :D
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebright_(chicken) We have the white and black sebrights. :D
Yeah but it was not in the CSA, so more southern (geographical) people still don't consider it southern. They keep it to the 11 states (I know there were 13 stars, but only 11 states.) Most will lump you in with WV, Ohio, PA and so on.
How do you greet your friends?
