  • I used to go to a $3/bag store and pick out stuff to sell at a consignment shop. It was a pretty good racket while it lasted. I got stuff for me too of course, but I just couldn't pass up the really, really nice stuff that wasn't my style or size. I'm thinking about getting back into flipping but less clothes, more vintage household. It's tough around here though, lot less antiques and people use the shit outta everything till it's practically dead. Nicer stuff typically sells at too high a price. But damn, I have found a shitload of cheap very unique old books. It's yardsale season now and I live in a more upscale place than last year so I'm interested in seeing what I come across.

      • I heard a good tip. Big size name brand bras. It's one of the last few unknown treasures in a thrift store so they generally don't charge any more for them than any other bra and they are super expensive to buy retail. People who need them are more than willing to buy used at a good price.

Also...muu muus and house dresses. Total hipster cash bonanza.

Oh...oh...and if you have some paints and a bit of vision, you can buy cheap cutesy figurines and paint them into creepy, scary, or just interesting things.
