It was an interesting society that had gender equality. I'll admit it wasn't perfect but the closest to a utopia that I've ever read in any novel. I read a lot. I liked how they bred people for certain jobs and eliminated awkwardness, concerning sex, and just let the libido run wild. "Everybody belongs to everybody else" is a brilliant motto.
true, but you can dull the pain with soma. Granted it's no Utopia. The book was interesting though. Too bad for Bernard. Since the I wrote this comment though my views have change. It is a flawed utopia but for most part, the people are at least happy.
Since everyone belongs to everyone and is free to sleep with everyone. Yet there is no mention of what to do if you simply don't want to hook up with someone. So what about things like rape and STDS? and what about pregnancy? Unwanted child birth, birth control, abortion... What about these?
If they don't want to hook up with you then go find someone else. The book doesn't address rape though. At least not that I can recall. Read it and maybe you'll find something about it.
How do you feel about the society in brave new world?

What are you talking about? Rape is not ok in Brave New World. Where did you get that notion?
