I think they are the same as any dog in terms of any dog can attack a human or another animal. It comes down to how they were raised and trained, and how they are treated.
Saw my first serious dog fight a couple of weeks ago. Between two pitbulls. It was scary, no doubt, but I know the dogs. They are gentle, sweet girls usually. The instigator has been neglected and probably abused in the past. They both came out wounded but ok. No need for stitches (fortunately) and were licking each other's wounds and remorseful almost instantly.
But it doesn't change my opinion. I think they can be raised as good family pets, so long as the owner is knowledgeable, experienced with dogs, and responsible.
