Some people just read languages better than they speak them. I'm definitely like this, personally. It doesn't help when people interrupt you constantly and stare at you as you try to talk either. It obviously depends on the individual circumstance- who, what, where, why, when, etc etc...
My personal suggestion would be to just communicate with her. Some ideas:
-Learn her language
__-this could be written or verbal. If she likes reading just write her a note.
-Use Google translate or something like that. Just learn what language she speaks and give it a shot.
Why would i try to learn her language and she signed up for a job that has a requirement for her to speak english…and on top of that shes literally shown she can speak it too. Me and a few of my coworkers seem to notice it but they’re to scared to speak up to my managers. I can tell when someone obviously cant understand, she definitely can. And nobody talks over her, we treat her friendly tbh they dont make her do much cause they think she cant understand.
I have no idea, since I'm not there. I do believe that it's quite unlikely that she has any nefarious intentions. Obviously I could be wrong! You're there so you are able to make more of an informed perspective than any one of us here.
Maybe she's just shy? That's how I often am. I just have a straight face, so people don't know what I'm thinking or feeling usually. Yeah, that tends to lead to a lot of misunderstandings, unfortunately.
Personally I always prefer a direct approach. Just do it nicely and she probably won't do anything to you. Probably...
Or talk to your coworkers. If they're nice and you're nice to them, then they probably won't pull one over on you either. But again, you're the one there so you have information that I don't. Any person can only provide so much perspective without all of the information on hand, after all.
Sounds unexpectedly polite if you ask me. :( Boy a person's environment does poison one's standards, does it not? Such a sad world and time that we are all living in.
Still you df… Stop acting like its far fetched and unheard of for people to do things like pretending like they dont understand a language.Atleast shes better than you in this situation.. youre actually dumb. Shes only pretending :)
How do you catch someone who’s lying about not knowing English?

Shocking and enlightening, I know.

It does sound sweet to write a note in someone's language. Not to check their knowledge of it, tho. That's way different.
You’re disgusting..
