Well, one technique is to establish a regular wake up time with an alarm clock ( One with a loud, obnoxious sound). Eventually, your brain will activate and wake up about five to 20 minutes prior to the alarm going off. What you do then, is set several different alarms with a stopwatch or beeper or something, even your phone. The alarms should be about 6-10 minute intervals, and then slowly accumulate to more and more time. As you drift in and out of sleep you'll be induced into a lucid dream where you think you're awake bu are actually dreaming. It's tough stuff and I'm still trying to perfect it.
