"Not having that sugar spike makes it easier to lose weight"
This is not true.
"All nutrition experts recommend fasting on keto for extra weight loss"
This is not true either. I have never met a single one. I have taken nutrition classes and know several other PT's and I've literally never heard this. I'm sure *some* experts recommend it but *some* experts also say fruit makes you fat so that in and of itself does not prove much.
Of course it "works" it's just not any better than calorie matched low fat diets. The specific reduction of carbohydrates provides no extra benefit in fat loss. My mind is made up sorry man.
On keto you burn more fat but you also consume more fat so it still comes back to energy balance, AKA calories in calories out.
No, not having sugar spikes makes it easier to FAST. Not lose weight. When you fast while on a high carb diet you feel like shit because your sugar gets too low. When you're on Keto and you fast you dont have the same sugar drop so you feel better. Thats why fasting and keto go hand in hand.
You should do some research on keto man. Its hard to try to argue with you when you just dont even know anything about it. You argue points that are irrelevant and you're translating my words. I never said keto is the only way to lose weight. Why are you even arguing?
I have to research this shit for my fucking job lol. If I disagree with you I need to do my research. So all my professors need to do theirs as well, but you who drive tricks for a living has it right?
I agree that its pheasible that lower carb makes fasting easier, but there is benefits to low fat diets as well and like I've said 100000000, you can't not get fat in a calorie surplus by avoiding carbs. AKA keto is not physiologically superior for fat loss.
Like I showed you earlier, the overwhelming majority of research shows that fat/carb ratio does not affect fat loss in calorie equates diets. That's the only fucking proof I need.
I am arguing because Keto is not superior, I never said it's bad. It has advantages and disadvantages just like most diets. Of course it's possible to lose weight, it's just not easier!
Lol its so bizarre that you are arguing with me even though we agree on almost everything here... I never said keto is superior to any other diet for weight lost. It is a good diet. Cutting junk out of all diets are good. The American Heart Association recommends oatmeal and high sugar cereal also. So wouldn't surprise me they arent teaching very good things in schools either. There are many good studies that show keto is a good diet. Look up Thomas Delauer he goes over many keto studies hes a nutritional scientists.
Thomas Delaurer. Speak of the devil. He also thinks fasting is anabolic and fruit makes you fat!
But I'm glad you have found a way to agree with me lol. My stance on Keto is :
It's a tool to help people lose weight that some people find easier to stick to than other diets. It is not superior for fat loss and has no other significant benefits outside independent of causing a caloric deficit. I coach/train people who lift weights and carbs are the bodies proffered fuel, so for this reason I never recommend keto to clients.
If I had a client who never trained and we just wanted to lose weight and after some experimentation, I found that it is easiest for them to be in a calorie deficit on low carbs, than that is when I would recommend keto. I don't hate the diet okay I would recommend it to people!
I mentioned Thomas DeLauer because you were the one that pulled rank. Thomas Delauer is a nutritional scientist and you're 20 and in school. And btw fasting DOES increase growth hormone. Thats a fact.
I can't help but think you dont know enough about keto to even get an opinion. First off do you know what ketones are? Just out of curiousity.
Delaurer is a moron. Growth hormone is anabolic but fasting is not. Just because fasting increases an anabolic hormone does not make fasting anabolic. Fasting has a lot of catabolic components and these outweigh the anabolic components.
Do you agree that fruit makes you fat? This is one thing he has also said.
He also said LOW sodium diets can make you get fat.
He also thinks fasted cardio is superior to fed cardio for long term fat loss.
He also said you can spot reduce fat.
I do know about keto. Not a ton but I know about it. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they don't know shit.
How do I lose weight?
