  • If you preach, and push him too hard you just might turn him into a snowflake. I'm not saying that to be a bitch I'm just saying that you catch more flies with sugar than you do with vinegar. Also, make sure that you set a good example yourself for your child! Always admit your mistakes, and apologize when you have screwed up especially if it's concerning your child.

    • I know, my parents pushed me too hard and I was a snowflake too. Thats why I'm wondering how i can do it. They kicked me out of the house at a young age and I lived poor and always felt sorry for myself. One day i got my shit together and found a good job and I realized it was the victim mindset that kept me down. Not the rich ppl. Its actually not that hard to find a good job and be successful. Im ranting. Basically I want him to be responsible for his fuck ups and not blame ppl and not be a sensitive little bitch

      • From where do you suppose that victim mindset came?

        • Which one? Mine? Because it was a scape goat and friends would reassure me that im a victim. I could blame the world instead of myself. In reality I was a drug addict that dropped out of school and hung out with similar people all day.

          • Well, regardless of from where that so called mindset came, you must not push too hard, because that's a great way bring about resentments on both sides. I honestly think you shouldn't project your issues on your child. I think things like acceptance, and moderation are key.

            • Thats what Ive come to realize too. If you push them too hard it will have the opposite effect. I really feel like that mindset is cancer though. I experienced it first hand.

              • I would say to make a point to always support, and encourage him. Try to model the behavior you want him to emulate.
