    I've been a part of this dump for several years and I lost my ability a few weeks ago. Don't quite know why. I hardly ever used the darn things but sometimes, I must. I'm more of thumbs upper than downer, so wtf??

      I lost mine too and a couple others said they did as well. It apparently didn't happen to everyone though because comments still get negative votes. I don't get it, but whatever!

        I messaged management over a few things and one of them was about why I can't thumb down anymore. He said that the requirements for who gets to use thumbs down is stricter now and it affected lots of people. Too many people were using it incorrectly and that he thinks it's a more positive atmosphere if there are more thumbs up than down happening in general. He also said if I continue to participate positively, writing good comments, good posts, and report bad things, then eventually I'll also get thumbs down access.

        I have no ill will against him and I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning it, but I thought maybe I can help answer your question. I hope you get your thumbs down ability back.
