You should feel bad. It's fine giving yourself food poisoning if you're too ignorant, disorganised or lazy to practice good kitchen hygiene, but someone like that should never prepare food for others, particularly since food poisoning can result in things far worse than diarrhoea.
Apologise profusely, admit that you made a mistake, and wait at least a couple of months before offering to cook for them again. When you do, make damn sure you do things correctly.
