What's cold, but objectivly true, is that the mass shootings are statistically meaningless. More people die from diabetes, everyday, in America than from gun deaths. It's just the mass shootings are more emotionally charged. You literally have more chance of being struck by lightning than dying in one of these psycho mass shootings.
If you detach the emotionally charged aspect of it then the right to defend oneself, coupled with the right to fight off tyranny, massively outweigh something that's less likely to happen to you than being struck by lightning.
