I agree, she doesn't sound like a very good friend. I've been in a similar situation, so, I know how you feel. I had planned to gradually break away from my friend, though that didn't work too well and I eventually did to be blunt. Some people either can't absorb the subtle or they choose to ignore it. If she is this type of person you will be blunt and cut her off. Being blunt isn't being brutal, and if she wants to keep her friends she has to learn what she is doing wrong. Be honest with her and ignore her if you have to. She'll get it eventually.
