How can i relearn to love others?

Okay, so as a child, I was removed from my home 3 times by Child Protective Services. Not for abuse, just educational neglect aka failure to send child to school.

Anyhow, because of the trauma of being removed from my mom, I don't or can't form attachments to anyone or anything. I don't love because as soon as I do, the government will rip everyone from me.

It is much easier not to love than feel that agonizing pain. What if my future children are ripped from my arms? What if my husband is ripped from my arms? What if my pets are ripped from my arms? I push everyone and pets away. I can't love.

If they want people to be all alone, they are doing a good job.

Sorry that you have gone through what you did. You are correct about the effects on your life.

It is possible to work through this; but, you are going to need someone who understands counseling and a real friend that is available to share at least part of their life with you.

Admittedly, that's hard to find that combination. But, it is possible.

Don't give up hope... I'm pulling for you,

Why would you want to? It's not an essential.

From what I can tell, love isn't fulfilling and rewarding. There is nothing important about it. In what ways does "love" reward you, besides status?
