How can i know i am suffering from this..

So here's the thing I saw someone's comment on a post on this site he was telling the op that he is suffering from the dunning Kruger effect (its a situation in which person having a low IQ overestimates themselves & smarter person underestimates themselves) so after reading that now I am feared that may be I am suffering from it but I am not sure coz sometimes I overestimate myself & sometimes underestimate, I am still wondering if I may have superiority complex
PS I am feared also coz one time a friend of mine called me a "sophomaniac"

You can "know" by visiting a psychiatrist. If they can't find a psychiatric illness ask them for a referral to a reputable psychologist & ask them if they can find an issue with you.

Or you could stop reading crap that people post on here, stop trawling the internet doing silly "Are you a" or "Do you have" tests. Stop listening to your friend who has discovered a new big word & wants to sound intelligent. Quit trying to find reasons for your human frailties & shortcomings which are inherent in every single one of us.

Why does everyone have to have a diagnosis of some disorder/illness to rationalise, justify or normalise their character?

    • Can you cut and paste this on every diagnosis that comes up here?
Truer words were never spoken. I’ve never heard of half these things (asocial, autist, “insert phobia here”), until I hit this site.

Learn to trust yourself a little more & take a little less notice of other people. You'll be fine.

It's not a psychiatric illness, it's just a fancy term for something brains do. It happens to people all over the world.
It's common, not dangerous and it's not a diagnosis so don't worry :P

You most likely aren't suffering a rare psychiatric disorder.

If your life is greatly diminished by thoughts like this see a physcologist and let them refer you to a psychiatrist if needed.

If your life is otherwise normal it will be expensive to go down that path, just to find out you are normal, just self conscious.

Use all options available that fit with your level of discomfort. A normal old doctors visit sometimes works wonders.
