How can i be sure the water i buy from a machine is safe?

I buy from a large water dispenser machine at 25 cents a gallon. The sign on the front says a list of contaminate-free elements and such.
but for 25 cents per gallon, something smells fishy. How can I check it?

    its prolly tapwater thru a filter

    its gonna do more or less what it claims but the machine owner might cheap out and leave the filter in for too long or maybe could be a sketchmo fuck who rigged up a bypass

    but thats prolly not the case

    get your own tap water filter is what id say
