So I have a 9 year old little brother. I love him very much, and I don't know what I would do without him. For those of you that have any siblings, YOU KNOW that sometimes siblings fight, or do not agree on every subject. Anyways, yes me and my brother argue about stuff a lot, BUT its nothing serious; only stupid little stuff.

Anyways, my brother says that "I'm the worst sister ever sometimes" and its been kinda bothering me lately. I asked him why does he think that? He basically said because I dont spend enough time with him, and I never play videogames with him.

I do agree that I don't spend enough time with him always, BUT sometimes I want to spend time to myself, or i have a lot of schoolwork to work on, and sometimes he doesn't understand that. Like I said I love my little brother, but does "not spending enough time with him" REALLY make me a horrible sister? is it normal that he's saying this to me?

    ya its normal..

    i have heard loved ones telling that to each other, when in anger but deep down love the other person a lot..

    And well hes saying that because he loves you...and misses you and wants to spend time with you.

    ya n Caps90 is right that he is telling that to hurt you back, and he probably said it in a burst of anger and sometimes when people are angry we really dont say sensible things, we just want to say something that will hurt the other person...

    your brother is being harsh but its normal that he is saying that... your growing up and reaching that stage where you need time with friends and time just with you and he hasnt reached that stage yet so he's just missing having a big sister to hang out with all the time. Once he gets a bit older he'll want to do his own thing to and will understand.. for now, don't take it personally. he still loves you. :)

    You are not a horrible sister and you should stop caring so much. Why do you not ask the last time he did something with you? When was the last time he did something with you only you like? I do not know about your brother but most men even a lot of adult men have spent 90% of there lives devoted to videogames. Most women spend time doing other things. That is kind of like asking a girlfriend "Why do you not get wasted like me and my friends"? Guys and women are different. Men typically have a one track mind and women are more scattered in beliefs, habits, hobbies. Your brother is being a baby and is most likely sad you can not play with him every single minute of his life but if his main concern is video games you might not see Eye to Eye. I will suggest you at least watch him play video games every so often since a lot of people like when you watch them play even if you do not actually play.

    It is soooo normal it is a brother thing mine do that all the time. One calls me fat and ugly the other tells me I am the worst sister ever it is just brother things don't let or get to you :)

    Koiish: Yeah my bro only calls me at when i do something to make him angry, but he says he does it to make me sad and doesnt really mean it haha.

    Everyone else: thanks for ur help. My mom pretty much said the same thing too. Anyways thanks again.

    He is just trying to get your attention! He probably misses you and is hurt by you not spending enough time with him so to hurt you back he says you are the worst sister in the world. He doesn't mean it most likely he just misses you and wants to spend time with you!
