I think you can choose to block out one specific gender and strictly want to stay with one but you can't help if you love a specific person. For example, some people make the choice to only identify as heterosexual because they don't like the idea of being homo, but sometimes they fall for someone of the same sex and try to ignore it. It also goes the same the other way, a homo walling for someone of the opposing sex, etc. Sexuality can be fluid, you don't have to only identify as one and if can change if that's the way you feel.
