really? I've alaays considered slaps or punches on the arm to be playful or flirtatious. I'm sure many guys do they probably dont react as you'd expect
the only time I doubted the above was when I made... some comment and this chick punched my arm insanely hard. I looked at her thinking wtf and she was laughing, so I smiled too. but inside I was crying
sure it's reassuring. it's just suggesting: trust me even though I'm lying...
or does it mean to trust me when I say I'm lying? could it be that I'm implying how I'm "lying in wait" for something. which could also mean I'm trustworthy but things aren't what they seem i.e. lying via selective truth? maybe is my entire username a lie in itself. I'd be happy to tell you which of these interpretations is the truth... but could you really trust my word?
No a punch on the arm I think is something friends and close relative just do sometimes. A slap on the face is considered something very disrespectful and basically saying "You're worthless". I see friends do and relatives do this to each other a lot. Sometimes it doesn't even mean your mad. Sometimes its means "Good job bro. Proud of you". Generally a sock on the shoulder/arm is a way of saying "Good job" for those who do not like expressing themselves but want to show admiration or appreciation. Which generally means good job, proud of you, or thank you. You know those macho type that dont enjoy being Mushy.
