As a philosopher of creepiness, I think he is asking if shallow validation is better than no validation. I would maintain that he wouldn't know unless he tried both.
I think you have a point. I think he would better serve himself to accept and love himself as he is warts and all, then go in search of an equally warty girl like himself to love and be with instead of miserably pining for the beautiful women he'll never have because they are of course out of his league. The only way he can change this would be to become wealthy, but then he would find gold digging skanks who are beautiful on the outside, but ugly to the bone on the inside. He'd still find mindless whores, he'd just have a mortgage instead of a rental is all.
