Have you left the religion you were born into

I grew up Catholic, left the church for another Christian group, then determined I had enough of Jesus (Or other god)

  • I was raised Catholic. I wasn't feeling fullfillment from it like everyone else was, so I looked into other religions. After a while I realized I was happy without it.

  • 'No' since I was brought up without religion and given freedom of choice. I haven't changed my stance on it so technically I never left what I was born into.

    • Same. I would hate to have these beliefs forced on me as a kid, and then draw my own conclusions later, but still have this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that a man in the sky might be watching me and that I will go to hell for ignoring him.

      • My parents were both born into Catholicism and by the time I was born they'd already figured it out! ;)

  • I was raised Baptist Christian but over the course of my childhood, I became very aware of my surroundings. Developed a sense of understanding and truth at such a young age, I decided to leave the faith at about 10 years old. Went through my teen years, exploring different religions. Practicing certain traditions, embracing various cultures etc. Specifically, I went through Catholicism, Jehovah's Witness, Pentecostal Christian, Universalism, Pagan, Druidism, Buddhist. Decided to just stay Spiritual, even now. I do still accept God in my life as who he is, no doubt. I just don't conform to a specific way or standard of practicing my faith in him.

  • I was raised as a Christian in the United Church but I really was not interested and had a hard time believing in an invisible all knowing "god." I eventually found Wicca which is a nature and seasonal spiritual path. I haven't met a pagan I didn't like. ;-)

  • I was born and raised Catholic. I was even a religious Ed teacher's aide. Got sick of all the BS and child sexual abuse scandals in the catholic church and left it. went to a Christan church and guess what?...exact same thing so I quit going to any church all together. Did I stop believing in God?...no I just lost my trust in the people running the church(greedy egocentric, bastards)
