Have you ever tried to commit suicide? And what caused you to do it?

I remember a few years back, there was an ER show and this man was there with a severe acid injury. He was trying to kill himself by drinking something corrosive, but his cousin got in the way. I think they may have been fighting with the fluid, because the liquid somehow went down the man's ear canal. I think he was unconscious by the time he got to the hospital. I don't recall how outcome played out.
