I like the idea of it, but the reality of having to kill people, and the often too frequent risk of killing the wrong people, would weigh far too heavily upon my conscience.
If I had to fight to protect the people I love, I'd do so. But the justification for participating in most of the violence abroad (specifically Middle East Asia) is insufficient for me to put myself and others at risk.
Of course, if I could pick and choose the battles I engaged in based on principle, I would definitely get involved. Ahh in a perfect world...
