That's pretty much what I do now: if I'm feeling ok about the world in general I give them the benefit of the doubt, that they're too poor for a longer call and are just ignorant, on other days they give me the shits: how hard is it to say someone who's helped you have sexual pleasure?
I imagine they feel like they have "said" thank you by paying for the service, many people feel like that. I know many people in service industry jobs that get paid substantially less than minimum wage and the tips are supposed to make up the difference. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Some are downright spiteful toward them for aspects of the service that they had no control over. It's a shitty world sometimes.
I had a girlfriend for sometime that did phone sex and she had mixed feelings about it. Why have you decided to do it?
I too have mixed feelings and wonder if after faking sex so often I'll be able to respond sexually in a real way if I ever get into another sexual relationship. Did your then girlfriend find that an issue?
I'm also very uneasy about playing roles which perpetuate disrespect or worse for women: we're not allowed to discuss anything illegal, but some fantasy phone sex "games" border on rape. I have stopped some calls and copped angry responses and of course that's losing me money, but I do have some ethics. Mostly it's mind-numbingly boring - two or three minute blowjobs are the norm.
Why do I do it? Poverty, poverty, poverty. I've done it before years ago when I was broke but this time I've kept doing it for more than five years, starting when a "permanent" part time cleaning job vanished and I couldn't (and still can't) survive in private rental on the pension. I did subsequently get more cleaning work but then a couple of health crises have made it virtually impossible to do enough cleaniog work to get by.
You're in the US, I assume, from your comments about tipping. In Australia there's a fairly decent award wage. I think around AU$25 per hour and if service staff get tips on top of that it's not the boss's business. Most places pool the tips and divide them up amongst the staff.
Have you ever gone to a brothel ?
