  • No, but I can understand why anyone would rationalize this as the best solution to a stressor, or moment of sadness in the moment.

To this, I would suggest placing the Local Suicide Prevention Hotline on speed dial so you have someone in the moment to talk to live, or a close confident to reach out to for help when urges such as these appear so you don't harm yourself, would be beneficial. The physical scars are permanent when using a blade for cutting behavior.

Over the years, Self Mutilation [Cutting Behavior/or the urge to use a blade to cut ] is understood as not a cry to commit suicide but a way to deal with painful emotions - Best to chat it out with a Therapist, a close confident, or Hotline Licensed Professional.

Did you know there is a free 24/7 toll free number to a National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to chat about suicidal crisis or emotional distress?

It's free to general public and Veterans! Great Resource for all! They will chat about anything and to anyone in distress.
