I did once, when I was only eighteen years old. I lasted 3 weeks and then they let me go because I was "too shy" (that's what they told me). I went home and cried about it for a while, then resolved to change that about myself.
It was my fault, I was naive. I thought that because the company had environmentally conscious products and actively supported fair trade practices that it was far more altruistic than it really was. When it came down to it, they were there to sell-sell-sell, just like any other business. I was a lousy salesperson; I'd approach people, that part wasn't a problem, but I felt too awkward about aggressively convincing them to buy as much stuff as they possibly could - which was what my employer expected of me.
